Fundraisers Can Be Fun-Raisers!

It takes creative fundraising to keep our non-profit organization running, and we think we've come up with a winning combination -- two fundraisers that are a lot of fun, and offer you very different types of experiences.

Our longest running fundraising activity has been the popular Progressive Dinner. So what's that? A "progressive dinner" is a unique experience where you, the diner, are hosted at one restaurant for a specific course of dining, and then you move on to other restaurants for each of your following courses. The different offerings over the years have included pupu, soup, salad, shave ice intermezzo, entree, and then deserts and snacks.

Over the last four years, several different restaurants in the Hale'iwa area have graciously hosted the Hale'iwa Arts Festival annual Progressive Dinner. We've been fortunate to have a wonderful variety of restaurants and some of their specialties to offer our diners at this annual event.

Our 2001 restaurants were: Rosie's Cantina, Pizza Bob's, Aoki's Shave Ice, Hale'iwa Joe's, and Jameson's By The Sea. We normally schedule this event in May. There are limited tickets available and they go fast. So don't miss out in 2002! Watch for the announcement!

Another special event we have always wanted to do became a reality this year with a new fundraiser, our first annual Silent Auction.

With many generous donations of art from last year's participating artists, and donated goods and services from businesses and individuals, we were able to host a successful and entertaining evening at Waimea Falls Park Pikake Pavilion. This first annual Silent Auction was held on St. Patrick's Day, 2001. Live music for the occasion was performed by Primitive Sun, and Elegant Catering catered the food and offered a no-host bar. Attendees had a great time at this Silent Auction, and went home happy with some incredible deals!

Tickets for this event are also limited and must be pre-sold, so watch for our announcements!
