Historic Trolley Tour

Join us for our historic trolley tour! For the second time, we are privileged to have with us some very knowledgeable and entertaining kapuna to take us on a tour between our Hale'iwa and Waialua communities. Landmarks with their special stories will be shared, songs will be sung, and old sites with their new millennium look will be visited.

Our tour kapuna will be Aunty Kanani Awai, who has lived in Hale'iwa for 43 years, and Aunty 'Oli Awai Kalili Hiers, who has lived out here most of her life.

Aunty 'Oli is retired from teaching at Waialua High School and is currently teaching Hawaiian Studies at Ka'ala Elementary School in Wahiawa.

Aunty Kanani believes in getting involved to better the lives of our community. She serves actively as a member of the local Hale'iwa/Waialua Association, the Waialua Civic Club, and with many other organizations. She also shares her time teaching at Hale'iwa Elementary School and works at Waimea Falls Park.

Their longtime friend, Francis Forsythe, will also be participating

Tours will depart from Hale'iwa Beach Park at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm on Saturday only. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about our historic picturesque area! And mahalo nui to these people for sharing their time, expertise, and energy so we may present to you this historic trolley tour from Hale'iwa to Waialua.
