![]() Eleventh Annual Summer Event July 19 & 20, 2008 The Hale'iwa Arts Festival, one of Hawaii's premier fine arts and crafts events, presents its Eleventh Annual Summer ArtFest. This celebration of the arts features over 130 Juried Visual Artists from Oahu, the Neighbor Islands, plus several mainland and international locations. The performance stage showcases two full days of Musicians, Singers, Dancers, and Storytellers. Cultural History Trolley Tours, Student Art Displays, Art Demonstrations and Children's Art Activities are all additional favorites on this special weekend - Saturday, July 19, 10am-6pm, and Sunday, July 20, 10am-5pm, 2008, in Historic Hale'iwa Town on the North Shore of Oahu. Admission, parking and all activities are free of charge! The Hale'iwa Arts Festival non-profit organization will present its Eleventh Annual Fine Arts and Crafts celebration July 19 & 20, 2008, at Hale'iwa Beach Park in Historic Hale'iwa Town, on Oahu's beautiful North Shore. This fine arts and crafts event presents the works of over 130 juried visual artists primarily from the Hawaiian Islands, and a few from mainland and international locales. These artists display original works and limited editions, both traditional and contemporary, in oil, acrylic, ceramic, photography, sculpture, watercolor, fabric, serigraphy, wood, jewelry and glass, as well as other media. Their art will be available for viewing, browsing and purchase directly from the artists. The Hale'iwa Summer ArtFest will also include two full days of performance arts, with performers presenting a broad variety of music, dance, and storytelling. Also included are cultural history trolley tours, arts demonstrations and displays, chalk art, and a host of hands-on children's art activities. The "Cool Stuff to Buy" booth will include new limited edition poster prints, tee-shirts and tank-tops. A broad selection of food and beverages will be available at the ArtFest site and also throughout Hale'iwa Town, which is noted for its excellent eateries from local style to fine dining. In addition, several North Shore businesses and galleries will be offering special events, attractions, and promotions throughout the area during this "Celebrate the Arts in Hale'iwa" weekend. Stop and go at your leisure as you have an opportunity to experience a weekend filled with a variety of activities, events and promotions here in a unique North Shore community. Hale'iwa Arts Festival programs have been supported in part by: Pioneer Hi-Bred International, the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the City and County of Honolulu, Kamehameha Schools, Hawaiian Electric Company, Brushfire Records, The Hawaii Superferry, Rosie's Cantina, Pizza Bob's, Aoki's Shave Ice, Hale'iwa Joe's, Jameson's By The Sea, Turtle Bay Resort, Team Real Estate, Network Media, the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of Hawaii and by the National Endowment for the Arts, Friends of Hawaii Charities, and by many individual contributors, members and volunteers.
