Kristine, a true "Island Girl", was born on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and now lives on the island of Oahu. She hopes that she can come close to portraying the true essence and spirit of Hawaii's people and their paradise. She has been a professional artist for more than twenty-five years with paintings in both corporate and private collections around the world. In the 1980s she was elected an active member of The Federation of Canadian Artists, the Hawaii Watercolor Society and the Association of Hawaiian Artists and since has been accepted into many juried exhibitions. Kristine has won numerous awards for her portraits in pastels, oils and watercolors. Working primarily in watercolor for the last twenty years, she has been honored with awards for her landscapes and florals in this medium. She strives to create paintings that evoke a strong emotional response from the viewer and says that the best way to do that is to paint from within. If you use God's gift, put your "heart and soul" into it, you should come up with a painting that moves someone! Dale Marie Cronn has been putting her own twist on wire for 17 years. She is a self taught visual artist who creates her unique works by hand from recycled copper wire and glass. She seeks out various sources of recyclable glass, then she tumbles these glass scraps to imitate beach glass. This process occurs before each piece is wire wrapped into a sculptured artwork. Her work has evolved over time and her love for Hawaii has been captured in her colorful works and subject matter. She moved to Oahu's North Shore in 1992 and Dale has been continually inspired and thankful to live in a place as beautiful as Hawaii. Dale Marie relocated to the Big Island last summer and loves her new island home. She looks forward to participating once again with the Haleiwa Arts Festival and says, "It's a great place and time to reconnect with fellow artists, friends and clients." |
